Nutritional supplement for liver function and more.
Vitamin B13, also known as orotic acid, is a nutritional drug with the molecular formula C5H4N2O4. It was used in the 1960s to treat jaundice and general liver dysfunction. While newer drugs have largely replaced it, Vitamin B13 continues to offer benefits in improving liver function and promoting hepatocyte repair. Beyond liver support, Vitamin B13 may aid in treating gout, improving cerebrovascular circulation, increasing phagocyte activity, enhancing tissue regeneration, and accelerating wound healing. It can also serve as an immunoadjuvant and a preventive/therapeutic agent for chemical poisoning.
Widely used in food additives, pharmaceutical intermediates, buffers, and cell culture fields.
