On April 16th, Zhao Gang, Deputy Secretary of the Pujiang County Party Committee and County Head, led a delegation to the Sichuan Pujiang Economic Development Zone to supervise the construction of key industrial projects. They also visited the Chengdu Baishixing Technology project site to conduct "progress, resolution, optimization, and promotion" work, gaining a firsthand understanding of the project's progress and the company's development needs.

Wang Zhaowei, Chairman of Chengdu Baishixing, accompanied the delegation and introduced the project's overall plan and the company's development. During the visit, county leaders engaged in in-depth discussions regarding the project's construction progress, technological research and development, and industrial development plans. They also coordinated on-site solutions to key issues in the project's advancement, providing strong support for its efficient construction and further enhancing the company's confidence in its continued development in Pujiang.

 

The new base has been fully launched, establishing a strategic production capacity layout.

Supported by a favorable policy environment and a solid industrial foundation, the Chengdu Baishixing innovative cell culture media R&D and manufacturing project has officially commenced construction. Located in Phase II of the Pujiang Synthetic Biology Industrial Park, the project complements the company's existing Chengdu base, further strengthening its industrial footprint in Southwest China.
Covering an area of ​​approximately 123 mu (approx. 8.2 hectares) with a total investment of 1 billion RMB, the project is planned for completion over a three-year period. With a total planned floor area of ​​around 100,000 square meters, the facility integrates R&D, production, quality control, warehousing, and supporting functions, marking a pivotal step in the company's drive toward large-scale, systematic development.
Upon completion, the facility will possess comprehensive production capabilities spanning cell culture media raw materials, oligopeptides, and pharmaceutical excipients. With a designed annual production capacity of 5,000 tons, the project will significantly enhance the company's supply capabilities and industrialization standards in the high-end biological raw materials sector.
Focusing on core products to serve the cutting-edge biotechnology industry, the new base prioritizes three product lines: cell culture media raw materials, oligopeptides, and pharmaceutical excipients. Cell culture media raw materials are essential components of the biopharmaceutical supply chain, widely used in frontier fields such as vaccine production, cell therapy, and gene therapy.
Meanwhile, the oligopeptide portfolio targets high-value-added applications, including innovative therapies for blood glucose control and weight management. The pharmaceutical excipients are widely used in injectable and oral solid dosage forms, playing a crucial role in ensuring drug quality and stability.
Through the synergistic development of these product lines, the project will bolster the company's overall competitiveness in biomanufacturing and provide a stable supply of high-quality raw materials to the domestic biopharmaceutical industry.
Leading with high-standard design to create a benchmark model factory
The new base adheres to high-standard planning and international benchmarks, fully aligning with regulatory requirements such as China’s GMP, US cGMP, and EU GMP, while balancing safety, environmental protection, and production efficiency.
The project features systematic design across overall layout, production workflows, quality control, and automation/information systems. Key priorities include strengthening risk control for multi-product manufacturing, optimizing the flow of personnel and materials, and enhancing production efficiency and management standards. Furthermore, the project incorporates green design principles to strictly control wastewater, exhaust emissions, and energy consumption, thereby promoting clean production and sustainable development. Upon completion, the project will establish a model factory characterized by regulatory compliance, advanced technology, scalability, and a low-carbon footprint, serving as a practical benchmark for the industry's high-quality development.
